Auto Transport 101
So, you want to ship your car from Point A to Point B?

Well, here's how the auto shipping business works. The website you went to, sold your information to 10-15 different companies, all Brokers, none of us who have our own trucks. What we all do is the legwork for the drivers. The truckers, all Independently Owned and Operated, don’t have time to sift through leads and find out who is serious about shipping. The Brokers do that work for them. Truckers are too busy driving, on-loading and unloading vehicles to call all prospective customers.

When you choose a company, A Broker, to ship your vehicle, we “post” your vehicle on a Website, a National Load Board, called Central Dispatch. There is only one in the country and everyone uses it, including all dealers, drivers, and brokers. That’s why Driver’s won’t be calling you. They just go to the site and pick and choose the vehicles they want to transport, and they base their decision on the size of the vehicle, the route, and how much you are paying in “cents per mile”. Bigger vehicles pay more, and out of the way locations pay more.

Here is an example of the NY to FL Run:

All these vehicles posted on these “boards” are your direct competition for a space on a rig!

What the driver’s see is this: The cities vehicles are coming from and going to, the type of vehicle, when the vehicle is available, and, what we are offering him to pick up and deliver. So, in essence, if there are 200 vehicles on this NY to CA board, which vehicles move? The ones that offer the drivers the most money!

The Website also has a unique feature that allows us to see what vehicles were ACCEPTED BY OWNER/OPERATORS, at what rates, on a route the same, or similar, to the one that you require in the past few weeks. Take a look at the NY to FL 5 Car Snapshot:

Therefore, the price that we are giving you has gotten vehicles picked up on this route. If you accept a Carrier Fee from another Broker at a rate less than these, in this example, you will NOT be going for a long, long time, if ever! That's why price is relative. Drivers pick the highest bidder, period! Low ball pricing is just a smokescreen, a way to steal a client's deposit. Don't let that happen to you.

DON'T FALL FOR THESE LINES FROM BROKERS WHO ARE CALLING YOU:

"I HAVE TRUCKS IN THE AREA" (Nobody knows truckers are in the area until they call us to choose your vehicle from the boards)

"WE HAVE OUR OWN TRUCKS" (We are all Brokers; none of us have our own trucks)

"WE NEED A DEPOSIT TO PAY THE DRIVER'S UPFRONT" (Drivers are paid upon delivery)

"LET ME PUT YOU ON HOLD, I AM TALKING TO A DRIVER" (Drivers are driving, what are the odds a driver will answer the phone at the EXACT MOMENT you are on the phone-? Zero!)

"WE NEED A DEPOSIT TO LOCK IN A SPOT" (BS, the deposit they are taking for you goes directly to them. Drivers never require a deposit!)

"STANDARD OR ECONOMY PRICING" (There is no such thing as "Economy Pricing"-it is a lure to get your deposit at a price that will NEVER get your car picked up)

The Carrier Fee to transport your vehicle is the single most important thing to remember. You may get a discount only if you are flexible with your timing, and if, and only if, you are a mid to smaller vehicle. Don't let brokers confuse you with “It's an all inclusive fee”. That's nonsense. Always find out what they are giving to a carrier!

An example is:
Company A: Quote $700
Company B: Quote $700

Which one is better for you? Well, when you determine that Company A is offering $600 to the driver, and Company B is offering $500 to the driver it's easy to choose Company A. Which quote will get you moved faster? Company A! Don't be deceived.

Remember, here at Ace Auto Movers, we never charge a deposit and it literally doesn't cost anything to make a reservation, change it, or, if you have to, cancel it. Obviously, we take a credit card to hold the reservation, but we don't charge the loading portion of the Tariff until we find a driver to pick up the vehicle. Then, the remaining balance is paid in cash or certified funds to the driver upon delivery.

*BEWARE!!! THIS INDUSTRY IS NOT REGULATED!!! NEVER PAY ANYONE A DEPOSIT! LOW BALL SCAMMERS WILL QUOTE YOU A RIDICULOUS PRICE, RUN YOUR CARD, AND POOF, THEY ARE GONE AND SO IS YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! And, since you paid them in advance, they have no interest in moving your vehicle.

Remember, that the lowest quote is an invitation to the highest cost through bait and switch, and a huge additional cost to you, and the fact that your car will almost never move on time, if ever. You've moved, but your car hasn't. It's still where it was, gathering dust. Ace moves 100's of cars a month. Do you think we might know a little about pricing a car for transport?

Isn't your car a valued possession?

If you want your car moved on time, with reasonable and accurate pricing, by the one of the largest transporters who takes no upfront deposit, then Ace's character speaks for itself.
